FAQ & Troubleshooting: Drug Information Center
Common questions about search results, caching, and therapy plans.
"Drug not found"
The drug isn't in MedSafe's database under that name — try searching by generic name instead of brand name, or vice versa.
A drug's information looks out of date
Monograph data is cached in your browser for an hour after first lookup — see Searching a Drug & Reading the Monograph. If you need the absolute latest, wait for the cache to expire or search again in a new session.
"Plan name and drugs are required"
You need a plan name before you can save a Therapy Plan — and a drug must be selected (from any of the other tabs) before opening the New Plan dialog, since the plan captures whichever drug is currently selected.
Can I add more than one drug to a therapy plan?
Not currently — each plan captures one drug at the time you create it. Create a separate plan per drug if you're tracking more than one.
Is drug search rate-limited or private?
Drug search itself doesn't require you to be signed in at the API level — it's a general reference lookup, not tied to any patient. Interactions, monographs, and adverse effects for Therapy Plans specifically do require sign-in, since those are saved to your account.
