Interaction Review Queue
Patient-linked interaction checks awaiting a pharmacist's approve, modify, reject, or monitor decision.
Unlike the ad-hoc Drug Interaction Checker, every check here is tied to a specific patient and goes through a review step before it's considered resolved.
How a check gets here
An interaction check is run one of three ways:
- Manually, checking a specific list of medications for a patient (at least 2 required)
- For a patient's whole active medication list at once, without listing them individually
- Automatically, triggered elsewhere in the app (e.g. when a medication is added)
Every check is tagged with how it was triggered, so you can tell a routine automatic check apart from one you ran deliberately.
Reviewing an interaction
Each interaction is flagged with a severity: contraindicated, major, moderate, or minor. Reviewing one requires a decision and a reason:
- Approve — acknowledge the interaction as acceptable to proceed with, given the clinical context
- Modify — suggest a change (dose, timing, alternative), with your modification suggestions
- Reject — the combination shouldn't proceed as-is
- Monitor — proceed, but with monitoring parameters you specify
Reason is required for every decision. Modification suggestions, monitoring parameters, and general notes are all optional add-ons depending on which action you pick.

- Critical interactions — a dashboard-style view of the highest-severity interactions across a date range
- Analytics — interaction check volume and outcomes over time
- Patient interaction history — every interaction ever checked for a specific patient, resolved or not
Patient acknowledgement
Separately from your review, an interaction can be marked as acknowledged by the patient — tracked as its own flag, independent of whether you've approved, modified, rejected, or asked to monitor it.
