Add a Medication

Starter+

Add a medication from a patient's Medications tab, or from the Medications Dashboard if starting from a patient search.

Required fields

• Medication name
• Dosage
• Frequency
• Route

Optional fields

• Start date / end date — if both are set, the end date must not be before the start date
• Indication — why the patient is on it
• Prescriber
• Cost and selling price — for your own record-keeping, not shown to the patient
• Allergy check — a status flag plus details, filled in after checking against the patient's recorded allergies

Checking interactions before saving

Use the Check Drug Interactions action in the dialog to check the new medication against the patient's existing list — see Check Drug Interactions for what that actually checks.
