Starting an MTR & Patient Selection
Begin a medication therapy review — pick a patient, set priority and review type.
A Medication Therapy Review (MTR) is a structured, 6-step process for reviewing everything a patient is taking. Start one from the MTR area or directly from a patient's MTR Sessions tab.
Starting a session
Pick the patient, then optionally set:
- Priority — Routine, Urgent, or High Risk
- Review type — Initial, Follow-up, Annual, or Targeted
Both are optional — leave them unset if you just need to get started.
A patient can only have one active MTR session at a time. If you see "Patient already has an active MTR session," finish or close their existing session before starting a new one — check Patient MTR Sessions List if you're not sure whether one's already open.
What happens next
Starting a session takes you straight into Step 1: Medication History — the first of five steps you'll work through in order.
