Completing or Cancelling an Encounter
The final summary screen — review everything entered, then complete or cancel the encounter.
After Step 6, you land on a summary screen showing everything recorded in this encounter — conditions, vitals, medication review, problems, interventions, and the follow-up date — before it's finalized.
Completing
Completing the encounter locks it in as part of the patient's chronic disease history. It also feeds the vitals you entered into that condition's trend data — see Trend Visualization — and re-evaluates whether the condition should now be flagged uncontrolled.
Cancelling
Cancelling discards the encounter — it won't appear in the patient's history or contribute to trend data. Use this if the visit was started by mistake or the data entered turned out to be wrong partway through, rather than trying to edit it after completing.
Complete and Cancel are the only two ways an encounter leaves "in progress" status. There's no separate edit-after-complete flow — if you need to correct something in a completed encounter, start a new one rather than trying to reopen the old one.
