Encounter Wizard Step 6: Follow-Up

The last data-entry step: set when this patient should come back for their next chronic disease check-in.

Fields

• Date (required) — must be a future date; a past or present date is rejected
• Type — in person, phone, or telemedicine
• Notes (up to 500 characters)

Follow-up is optional overall — you can complete an encounter without setting one — but if you do set a date, it has to be in the future.

What happens if the date passes with no follow-up encounter

A follow-up date that passes without a matching subsequent encounter for that patient shows up as a missed follow-up on the Chronic Disease Dashboard — it isn't chased up automatically otherwise.
